PRP: PLATELET RICH PLASMA

Also known as the 'Vampire Facial' this treatment uses your own blood as the main tool to boost collagen production and support the body's self-healing process.

PRP Platelet Rich Plasma (Vampire Facial)
WHAT TO EXPECT

The now infamous PRP treatment is designed to accelerate tissue regeneration and repair. It’s earned the moniker ‘Vampire Facial’ as it uses your own blood as the main tool.

Blood is drawn from your veins (similar to a blood test) and placed in a device known as a centrifuge. This spins the vial of blood separating the whole blood (red) from the plasma.

Thrombocytes (blood platelets) play an important role in this process.

The plasma is injected into the treatment area and it releases growth factors which support the body’s self-healing process, therefore, contributing to the rejuvenation of dermal tissue. It also boosts collagen production.

PRP is beneficial for:

  • dry/fatigued skin

  • pigmentation

  • wrinkles

  • dark circles

  • skin texture and tone

  • loss of elasticity

  • skin thinness

  • hair volume and strength

SIDE EFFECTS

As with most cosmetic medicine procedures, you may expect some discomfort, tenderness
and swelling. We will discuss any other possibilities at your consultation.
